講座、個人インタビュー

今日から講座が始まった。
これは後日テストに出るので復習もしなくてはならない。
青年海外協力隊に選考に合格し訓練合宿に来ている私たちが何故「候補者」という肩書きになっているかというと、この合宿所でもテストがいくつかありそれに全てパスする事が最終課題なのだ。


英語のクラスでは個人面談。
先生に言われて大きな事に気がついた。
そして私がこの訓練所で訓練する事の項目に、重要な項目がひとつ加わった。
「人に教える」技術を習得する事。
それを学ぼうとは思っていなかったけど気がついたらこの研修合宿所では私は自然と英語を教える立場になっている。

休み時間、前の時間に先生のマシンガントークの中で使われた便利で魅力的な単語や便利なイディオムをピックアップして同じ英語クラスのメンバーに紹介している。
　授業の内容は私にとって難しくないけれど、他のメンバーに必要な情報を分かり易く教える事も私の仕事だと考えると、そこは私にとって奥の深い勉強の場となる。
人に何かを教えるのはほぼ初めての経験。

私の英語力を、人の為に使えるんだ。
人の為に私ができる事ってなんだろうって普段考えているけど、ここでは英語を楽しく分かり易く教えるという手段で人助けができる。その事が嬉しい。
そして何より、これから私が任国で必要となる「人に教える」技術の向上になる。
　興味を引き出しながら、楽しく自発的な気持ちで物事を吸収してもらうには、どういうやり方が良いだろう？
その分野（人に教える）も広く深く、研究するべき事が沢山ある。

さあ、今日の宿題しよう。

ONE OF MY AIMS OF BEING HERE

     The lecture classes have started.

We are going to take lecture's class exams, so I have to do a review.

Why we are called candidates is that  we have still not completely passed the training.  We need to pass all of the exams and classroom assignments to  become a JICA volunteer. 

    I had an English individual interview.

When I talk with my teacher, I realized something important.

It was that I had to add to  my list,  THE AIM OF BEING HERE. 

  

    Getting  the skill of teaching people.

I'm not sure that I wanted learn about it, but unconsciously I'm teaching people English in here. 

I'm holding MIYAKO English conversation classes voluntarily as well. 

And during English class, I pick up some useful/good words or idioms from the teacher's sayings, and then I introduce them to my classmate after that. 

The class which I belong to is not difficult for  me, but if I think that teaching people in an easy and correct way and let them know what they need, is part of my JOB  here, it’s going to be a deeply interesting learning time.

  This is  the first time that I am teaching people. 

    Oh what a great thing that I can use my skill of English FOR other people.

I'm thinking about how I can do things for other people often, and now, I can see it I can help them  while I'm completing my training here. 

I'm really happy about that. And what's more, that skill is exactly what I need for my  next design job. 

 What is the best way to make them curious when I am teaching English?

What can I do to let them absorb English with a happy and voluntary feeling?

  The way of "Teaching" is deep and wide. 

There are many things I have to learn.

So, I'd better get down and do my  homework now!
